Bee Vradenburg Foundation has joined with the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado to offer a $10,000 grant prize to an arts nonprofit or artist-led project that produces an inclusive, creative community event or project in 2010. But it will be everyday citizens, through their online votes, who decide which project gets funded. Voting is open through midnight March 14. Click on the Art Creates community link to learn about each project and place your vote. The winner of the $10,000 prize will be announced March 15.
The joint initiative, called Art Creates Community, is a call to the entire Pikes Peak region to have a direct vote in creating an inclusive, creative community activity in 2010. The initiative received 25 proposals that were narrowed to five finalists. Other sponsors of the contest are The Gazette, KRCC and PeakRadar.com.
