Grantees in the Spotlight 2006

Manitou Art Theater

Bee Vradenburg Foundation congratulates Manitou Art Theater on receiving the Alliance for Colorado Theatre’s 2005 Community/Professional Theatre Award.

The Bee Vradenburg Foundation is proud to support Manitou Art Theater, through grants of general operating support that enable MAT to reach thousands of children and adults each year.

Founded in fall 2001 by the husband-and-wife team of Jim Jackson and Birgitta DePree, MAT partners with the Business of Art Center to bring a range of performances to the community. First Saturdays at the MAT offers up theater, music, dance, storytelling and more each month for children. The MAT Premieres series offers original works by acclaimed national, regional and local performers. Additionally, MAT serves the Pikes Peak region through outreach tours and collaborations with groups such as Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration, Pikes Peak Library District and Performing Arts for Youth Organization.

Currently, Bee Vradenburg Foundation has provided a challenge grant to Manitou Art Theater to help build the organization’s individual donor base. The foundation has pledged to match individual donations dollar for dollar up to $2,500.
