Foundation History

Bee Vradenburg’s legacy endures to this day in the Pikes Peak region. Inspired by her passion and boundless generosity, in 2001 Bee’s friends and family formed the Bee Vradenburg Foundation. With son George as chairman of the board of trustees, the foundation’s mission is to advance Bee’s vision of a thriving and diverse cultural community by investing in the excellence, innovation and sustainability of the arts in the Pikes Peak region.
Through its grants to nonprofit organizations, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation supports a variety of cultural offerings. The foundation also strives to increase awareness and support of the arts communitywide, through presentations to service organizations, business groups and elected leaders. Additionally, the foundation executive director assists in various projects and programs designed to enhance the arts scene and works one-on-one with arts groups needing assistance with capacity building. Foundation board members based in Colorado Springs also are involved in the arts scene, serving on nonprofit boards and spearheading important projects.
Since inception, the foundation has granted more than $2 million to arts nonprofits in El Paso and Teller counties.
